What is allergy and what causes allergy

THE SYMPTOMS OF ALLERGY

Any organ can exhibit allergic reactions, but often the symptoms are confined mainly to one organ or organ system.

By allergic reactions in the respiratory system there will be symptoms like: Iching and soreness in the throut and nose cavities, swelling of the airway tissues, increased amount of secrets in the airway cavities and coughing. There may also be astmatic symptoms or fully developed athma. The main symptom of asthma is cramping that constricts the airways down all the way into the lungs (in the trakea and trakoles).

By allergic reactions in the skin, there will be symptom slike: Redness, swelling, red spots, itching and soars.

THE CAUSES AND MECHANISMS OF ALLERGY

Allergy develops more or less in this way: By exposure to some substances, the immune system learns to recognize that substance (allargen), and it learns to produce anti-bodies towards the substance.

The next exposure to the same substance will provoke this anti-body production. The antiboies will then react by the allergen and glu itself to the allergen, and also glu allergens together to bigger complexes.

These complexes can get big, can clog small blood vessels and in other ways disturbe the function of the affected organ.

The allergen-antibody-complexes are then rcogized by the cells and other mechanisma that the body uses to collect and eliminate garbadge. Eater-cells gather and ingulf the complexes.

Blood vessels will widen to increase the blood flow to the area. Fluid from the blood will pour out of small blood vessels into the area between the cells to wash away complexes and rests from digested complexes. This extra fluid will make the area swell.

All this activity of the immune system disturb the normal function of the organ and produce the symptoms of allergy.
